Crowd pressure on the barrier line
The Barrier Load Monitor System measures the pressure at the barrier itself, where the crowd meets the line.
Features

The Barrier Load Monitor System measures the pressure at the barrier itself, where the crowd meets the line.

The sensors are integrated into the Straight Section, so the measuring points become part of the barrier line. No extra barrier elements are added to the layout.

The sensors are linked to computers at the event. Mojo Barriers’ own software shows the readings in real time as data and graphics, so hotspots can be spotted and handled as they develop.

Sensor barriers can stand side by side for continuous coverage or be spread as single measuring points along the whole barrier line.

The readings are recorded for later analysis and research purposes. Detailed reports after data analysis are optional.

FAQ
Two contacts, depending on the question:
Barrier load monitoring means measuring how much pressure a crowd puts on a temporary barrier line, for example in front of a stage, while the event is running. The readings show where pressure is building up and where peaks occur along the line. With Mojo Barriers, this is the Barrier Load Monitor System (BLMS), part of the barrier systems range.
| Festival | Country |
|---|---|
| Lowlands | Netherlands |
| Roskilde | Denmark |
| Leeds | United Kingdom |
| Reading | United Kingdom |
| Rock Werchter | Belgium |
The BLMS measures pressure on the barrier, not the number of people or their density. It shows how much load is applied to particular sections of the barrier line, read from the sensor barriers in that line, rather than a calculated uniformly distributed load or point load. Counting people or measuring crowd density across areas needs other tools.
