A curved line at the Queen Victoria Monument
On 4 June 2012, Mojo Barriers' UK office provided over 400 metres of aluminium crowd barrier at landmark locations for London's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The Diamond Jubilee Concert in front of Buckingham Palace had 12,500 ticket holders, including the Queen and VIP guests. The stage was set up around the Queen Victoria Monument. Mojo supplied the curved barrier that separated the artists' area at the edge of the monument from the public, as well as numerous camera platforms.
Screens on The Mall for a hundred thousand more
A further hundred thousand visitors lined The Mall to join the celebrations and watch the concert on giant screens. More Mojo Barriers across the Palace end of The Mall kept this free public area separate from the concert.
A range of special barrier pieces from the company's inventory adapted the system to this unusual site. The Mall has a considerable camber, so the line that crossed it needed particular care, and special adaptors called curb hoppers kept the barriers stable across pavements and kerbs.
Gates for the morning parade
Mojo's specially designed Megagates were part of the barrier in the centre of the system. They let The Mall be opened and closed again quickly, so a military parade could pass through on the morning of the event.
It was great to be part of the Robbie Wilson Productions delivering this huge production at one of the World's busiest tourist attractions. It was especially tricky with members of the public in and around the site and the 'Changing of the Guard' going through the area. Having Mojo's range of barrier specials meant that we could be very efficient installing robust barriers that coped with all of the idiosyncrasies of the ground.
