From Montreal to The O2 Arena
When Usher went on his world tour, The UR Experience, Mojo Barriers was called on to keep crowds safe at the US and European dates.
The tour opened in Montreal, Canada, in November 2014 and ended at The O2 Arena in London on 26 March 2015. It visited countries from the US to New Zealand, with 23 European cities on its final leg. Nico & Vinz were the support act.
A barrier list that followed the stage
Mojo supplied the safety barriers to surround and protect every part of the stage, including the catwalks. Working from the production's drawings, the team provided:
- 32 Mojo straight barrier sections
- two 1.5-metre Mojo doorsets
- two Mojo snake gates
- eight 45° corner sections
- two vario corner sections
This varied kit let the production create a complex configuration that followed the contours of the stage exactly.
The US leg was seated, so the barrier set-up was adjusted. Mojo's US office also supplied six heavy-duty cable ramps, which can be positioned quickly to protect cables from damage.
Why artists take their barriers on the road
… Artists are placing an increasing importance on ensuring their safety barriers are of the highest standard and are now carrying these with them to every leg of their tour, instead of using local suppliers. This way integrity and trust of equipment can be ensured across every event date.
Usher is one of the best-selling artists in American music history, with over 65 million records worldwide, and with the help of a strong team of suppliers including Mojo Barriers, the tour was a great success.
