Channelling passengers at three stations
The safety of people using public transport was a key concern for LOCOG during the Games, as thousands of extra passengers came into London by train and bus. Mojo Barriers set up custom configurations at St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Stratford stations, with 700 metres of barrier at each, to channel passengers carefully and quickly towards venues including the Olympic Stadium.
Mojo also supplied barriers for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and for various locations within the Olympic Park.
Three sites, 1.4 million visitors
Live Nation contracted Mojo Barriers to provide 1,000 metres of barrier across the three sites of BT London Live in Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square. The series of concerts, sporting events and live Olympic and Paralympic screenings welcomed more than 1.4 million visitors, and bespoke configurations managed safe entry and exit.
Mud, woodchips and a quick turnaround
After the Olympics, the venues had to be reconfigured quickly for the Paralympics. Hyde Park saw some of its worst weather, and the Mojo team stayed on site throughout to keep the barriers safe and in place, despite thick mud and the woodchips laid after the downpours.
With so many extra people heading to the capital for the Olympics and supporting events we utilised our extensive stock inventory to deliver safe environments across London.
At the same time, the team continued to serve summer events such as Hard Rock, Wireless and Reading and Leeds Festival.
